Description/Notes: | Primary Purpose To digitally communicate the image and goals of the ESC through the use of effective website communication strategies. Design, enhance, and maintain the organization's website and other digital communication tools to ensure its technical effectiveness, compliance, and functionality for our staff members and constituents. |

Special Knowledge/Skills: ♦ Strong understanding of the most current web design "best practices," including website accessibility and compliance, search engine optimization, and cross-browser compatibility ♦ Knowledge of industry trends as they pertain to websites ♦ Understanding of laws, policies, copyright, web accessibility, and regulations regarding websites ♦ Ability to detect, analyze, and solve technical problems ♦ Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills ♦ Ability to listen to audience needs and clearly translate those needs into compelling content ♦ Team-oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff ♦ Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users ♦ Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills ♦ Self-motivated, ability to take initiative and meet deadlines ♦ Familiarity with AP Style Experience: ♦ Minimum three years of experience in professional website design and management preferred ♦ Expertise working on a content management system (such as Blackboard or Finalsite) ♦ Experience with providing training/technical assistance to software users (department web editors). Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented. ♦ Actively participate in inter-departmental teams to help improve student performance in the region, to improve the ESC's internal operations, and to meet the established goals and objectives of the ESC. ♦ Is responsive as the first point of contact to all stakeholders in the education community. ♦ Coordinate with ESC department web editors in developing and maintaining their web pages to ensure a consistent look and feel. ♦ Facilitate monthly web editor support/training sessions so that content on departmental pages is current and accessible. ♦ Check webmaster's email account on a regular basis, forward to appropriate parties, and /or respond to the requests. ♦ Follow ESC guidelines, AP style rules, and federal accessibility guidelines for maintaining the website. ♦ Analyze website traffic reports and other metrics to improve site usability. ♦ Provide technical support and lead in employee website training. ♦ Communicate well both verbally and in writing. ♦ Handle multiple projects, ensuring that each is completed to the highest standard and on time. ♦ Actively participate in the Statewide ESC Communications Network group, TSPRA, and the North Texas Blackboard/Finalsite Users Group by attending virtual and in-person meetings and conferences. ♦ Create and manage internal staff resources and content on our intranet platform. ♦ Manage website user roles, accounts, and permissions. ♦ Work with the Chief Communications Officer to establish and maintain governance standards and policies for web content. ♦ Other duties as assigned. Salary Range: | $58,932 minimum - $71,868 midpoint |
