The Information Security Analyst will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the security infrastructure to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all information systems and data assets in the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing risk, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and taking necessary actions to mitigate and remediate them.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Design, implement, and maintain information security systems and processes to safeguard data assets.
2. Monitor and analyze security alerts and events to identify potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
3. Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the security infrastructure.
4. Develop and maintain security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
5. Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to implement security controls and practices that align with business/district objectives.
6. Conduct security awareness training for staff and faculty to promote a security-conscious culture.
7. Respond to and manage security incidents, including conducting investigations, and implementing remediation plans.
8. Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements in the education industry.
9. Manage vendor relationships and third-party security assessments to ensure compliance with security requirements.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment and computers including proficiency with Windows.
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse.
Lifting: Occasional moderate lifting and carrying (15–44 pounds).
Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are a plus.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of information security principles, risk management, and compliance requirements (FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience:
Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanning tools.
Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, or CIS Controls.
