Description/Notes: | Responsible for the leadership and supervision of campus principals, and academic accountability performance outcomes as the District Coordinator of School Improvement. Ensures that all required Federal and State Targeted Improvement/Turnaround Plans are submitted and approved by the Texas Education Agency. Works in close coordination with TEA, ESC 2 and district departments to provide the Effective Schools Framework support needed to facilitate successful schools. Responsible for evaluating and supervising all principal leadership and professional development for leadership. |
Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master's degree in education administration Valid Texas Standard Principal or Mid-Management certification Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of Teaching and Learning Knowledge of Effective Schools Framework Knowledge of Principal Evaluation Ability to implement policy and procedures Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Experience: Three years experience as a classroom teacher Three Years experience as a Campus Instructional Leader Three Years Experience as a District Level Administrator Campus Principal experience (preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: Leadership and Personnel Management Oversee the development of Principals as Instructional Leaders of their campuses. Evaluate and hold accountable principals as instructional leaders for the academic and social emotional learning performance of their students Hold frequent leadership meetings, huddles, and 1-1 sessions to guide, facilitate, and coach campus principals on effective leadership practices, improvement planning, and teacher observation and feedback. Model exemplary communication and professionalism when working with campus principals. Coordinate crucial conversations and crucial accountability training with Executive Director of Human Resources. Coordinate the screening, interviewing, and selection recommendations for campus based administrators. Collaborate with Teaching and Learning for the professional development of Principals, Deans of Instruction, Assistant Principals, and teacher leaders consistent with the district's mission and priorities. Participate in the implementation of the designated teacher appraisal system. School Improvement As the DCSI, oversee the development and implementation of Targeted Improvement Plans, Turnaround Plans, and other required school improvement documents.. Ensure that the TEA Effective Schools Framework is being implemented throughout the district and that all departments understand their role in facilitating campus success. Participate in the district-level decision-making process to establish and review the district's goals and objectives and major classroom instructional programs. Ensure that goals and objectives are developed using effective collaborative processes and problem-solving techniques. Monitor and reevaluate instructional programs on an ongoing basis using input from teachers and principals, applied research, and student data to determine effectiveness and improve outcomes. Recommend changes and adjustments where appropriate. Ensure that the necessary time, resources, materials, and technology to support accomplishment of education goals are available. Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals and objectives and campus performance objectives. Participate as a member of the DEIC to ensure that comprehensive Needs Assessments and Campus Based Improvement Strategies and resources are aligned to the TIPS/TAPS. Policy, Reports, and Law Ensure compliance with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required for Policy Records. Prepare for Board of Trustees, Policy Updates, and revisions as recommended by TASB. Coordinates District Board Policy Review with TASB as needed. Budget Develop and administer the L&SI budget based on documented program needs and ensure that operations are cost effective and funds are managed prudently. Monitor Campus Comprehensive Funds are expended according to Improvement Plans and by required deadlines. Other Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations on School Improvement to the board, principals, teachers, parents, and community groups. Attend regular meetings of the board. Stay abreast of current research and best practices on Leadership and Improvement, adjust plans, policies, and procedures accordingly. Works in partnership with the Executive Director of Human Resources to ensure compliance of Evaluation timelines and requirements for Administrators and Campus based staff. Complete other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and firing of principals and assistant principals to the Superintendent. |
Salary Range: | 82,000 - 105,000 Salary comennsurate with experience on salary scale |
