Description/Notes: MISSION: The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will improve outcomes for all public-school students in the state by providing leadership, guidance, and support to school systems.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Strategic Compensation and Data Specialist will play in supporting a pathway for outstanding Texas teachers to earn six-figure salaries. This individual will play a key role in providing technical assistance to districts as they implement their local designation systems and prepare for the data submission process. The specialist will guide districts in how to set-up their data management systems, monitor the collection of data, and analyze throughout the year. This individual will also support districts in innovating around compensation, spending and funding, while ensuring districts are able to meet the statutory requirements for Teacher Incentive Allotment spending.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Provide logistics and planning support for Strategic Compensation Grant and Fellowship, an innovative opportunity
for districts to adopt goal-oriented compensation systems.
-Design, source, vet, disseminate, and promote high-quality technical assistance and resources that will support
districts in collecting and analyzing data related to their local designation systems.
-Design, source, vet, disseminate, and promote high-quality technical assistance and resources that will support
districts in spending the Teacher Incentive Allotment funds, including both innovation strategies and statutory
compliance.
-Lead work related to the Teacher Incentive Allotments Data Submission process, which allows districts to designate
teachers to generate an allotment between $3,000 and $32,000.
-Support and contribute to other tasks assigned at the office, department, or division level.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: At least four (4) years of experience in collecting in analyzing data with a preference in a PK-12 context.

Substitutions: An advanced degree may substitute for two years of required experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

-Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and are able to succeed in college, career, or the military
-Experience with compiling and reviewing educational data sets
-Experience with record keeping, including security procedures for handling, protecting and distributing confidential data
-Highly organized; ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
-Ability to effectively communicate with a wide group of stakeholders
-Strong long-term planning and project management skills, including establishing outcomes, determining evaluative measures, and tracking progress
-Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity
-Ability to engage in a collaborative, results-oriented team environment
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
-A desire to self-reflect, give/receive feedback and continuously improve
Salary Range: $4,598.66 - $6,065.75
