Description/Notes: | Primary Purpose: Directs the planning, organization, administration, leadership, innovation and management of schools. Provides coaching and leadership to assigned personnel and collaborates with central office teams to ensure successful student outcomes, best practices, innovation, operations and other services. Major Responsibilities and Duties: *Serve as a contributing member of the District's Executive Leadership Team and collaborate with the other functional units. *Align the work of assigned departments to monitor school performance and assure effective and efficient operation of campuses while providing leadership, support, and technical assistance to district and campus staff. *Provide organizational leadership to ensure the coordinated planning and consistent implementation of the districts strategic plan, making certain that programs and supports are effective and focused on student learning and prioritized to meet individual campus needs. *Demonstrate and develop high academic and behavioral expectations, collaborative planning and program development, responsive management, and personal accountability within the assigned department(s) and all campuses. *Establish procedures for the evaluation and selection of resources, supplies, and equipment. *In collaboration with other members of the administrative and supervisory staff, conduct campus visitations to assess program implementation and instructional effectiveness through the calibration process. *Provide the supervision of the reporting of student performance, including, but not limited to: progress reports, report cards, standardized test results, awards, and other accomplishments to parents, the school community, and the general public. *Ensure compliance with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. *Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. *Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. *Develop and administer assigned budget based on documented program needs and ensure that operations are cost effective and funds are managed prudently. *Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions in assigned departments as needed. *Evaluate job performance of assigned directors, principals, coordinators, and other assigned staff to ensure effectiveness. *Ensure that established goals and expectations related to implementation of programs are communicated clearly, consistently, and in a timely manner. *Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with principals, teachers, staff, parents, and community members. *Articulate the districts mission, instructional philosophy, and curriculum implementation strategies to the community and solicit its support in realizing districts mission. *Demonstrate use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. *Other duties as assigned. *Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations on department issues to the board, principals, teachers, parents, and community groups. Attend regular meetings of the board. *Stay abreast of current research and best practices and adjust plans, policies, and procedures accordingly. *Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Stay abreast of state and federal public policy changes that could impact the district. *Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned directors, principals, coordinators, and other assigned staff. |
Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Masters degree in education administration or related field (required) Doctorate (preferred) Mid-management/principal certificate (required) Superintendent certificate (preferred) Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of the integral components and relationships that comprise effective schools Ability to plan effectively, organize, implement, and evaluate plans Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to interpret policy, procedures and data Ability to formulate ideas and communicate effectively with all stakeholders Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Excellent skill in conflict resolution Ability to effectively function as a member of Superintendents Executive Leadership Team Experience: Five years successful principal experience (preferred) Three years experience as a classroom teacher Additional experience in instructional or administrative leadership roles (preferred) |
Salary Range: | $94,920 - $123,396 *226 Work Days |
