| Description/Notes: | The Kilgore School District (4,000 students, 5 campuses, 500 employees) is beginning the search for our next Chief Financial Officer. This ideal applicant should possess a strong foundation in Texas school district finance and general accounting, demonstrated experience in public school education operations, and be professionally prepared to assume District Cabinet leadership responsibility that includes monitoring the management of all Kilgore ISD funds and serving as the chief financial and budget advisor for the District. Kilgore ISD's current CFO will remain on staff in a supporting role until June, 2022 to ensure a smooth KISD Business Office transition. Primary Purpose: Responsible for oversight of all financial and business affairs of the district. Provide leadership for the districts financial services activity to ensure legally sound and effective management practices. Direct and monitor the management and investment of all district funds and ensure they are adequately protected. Serve as chief financial advisor and budget advisor to the superintendent and board of trustees. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification Bachelors degree in business, accounting, or other business or education related field TASBO Certification preferred CPA Certification preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Advanced knowledge of public school finance, public school budgeting, and general accounting systems Knowledge of school information/data processing systems and financial applications (Skyward) Ability to resolve conflict, listen, and appropriately respond to concerns Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to manage school budget and school business office personnel Ability to implement school appropriate policy and general accounting procedures Ability to interpret data Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Experience Minimum of three years experience in the fields of school finance and general accounting Minimum of five years experience of supervisor responsibility in the fields of school finance, general school leadership, and general accounting |
