Description/Notes: The elementary interventionist will provide support to teachers as they implement tiered interventions and accelerated instruction. The elementary interventionist will identify students who are at-risk and in need of interventions or accelerated instruction. The interventionist will assist in the systematic planning, implementation, and delivery of interventions and accelerated instruction for students who are struggling. The elementary interventionist will provide screening support throughout the school year.

*Knowledge of curriculum, design, and implementation for grades PK-4
*Knowledge of state curriculum and assessments
*Knowledge of early elementary screening tools
*Knowledge of multi-tiered systems of support
*Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs
*Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
*Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to determine instructional plans for students.
2. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
3. Participate in RTI, 504, and/or ARD Committee meetings as requested.
4. Provide professional development to teachers and staff as needed.
5. Use assessment and screening results to plan for tiered instructional support.
6. Assist classroom teachers in determining and implementing appropriate tiered interventions.
7. Manage several responsibilities simultaneously, perform work in a productive and timely manner, and meet work schedules.
8. Use technology in teaching/learning/screening process as needed.
9. Assess students using early elementary screening platforms; use data collected from platforms to implement and maintain student supports.
10. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing, and monitor students academic progress through data collection.
11. Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers as needed/requested.
12. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
13. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
14. Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals, objectives, and campus performance objectives.
15. Keep informed of and comply with federal, state, district, and school regulations and policies.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
*Bachelors degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
*Texas certification standards required for assignment as set by the State Board for *Educator Certification (SBEC)
*ESL certification preferred
*Reading Academies completion preferred

Experience:
*Three years of experience as a classroom teacher.
*Experience in working with small groups to provide accelerated learning.
*Experience in working with teachers to implement intervention strategies.
*Experience in using screening tools for placement and diagnostics
