Description/Notes: Direct and manage district’s transportation and vehicle maintenance program. Oversee
maintenance of all district-owned vehicles. Ensure safe and efficient operation of transportation department.

Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred, but not required
Appropriate clear and valid commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S)
T.A.P.T. Master Official Certification preferred
Completion of TEEX “Train the Trainer” or Region ESC Driver Trainer Academy preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Applications and applicable transportation software
Excellent organizational, communication, team, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage and supervise personnel, manage budget, transportation software applications
Ability to direct and manage the operations of vehicle fleet
Legal issues of interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, and termination of
Five (5) years of bus driving experience
Three (3) years supervisory experience in transportation administration preferred
Salary negotiable and dependent upon experience

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of federal and state special education law
Understanding of the individual needs of special needs students
Ability to communicate with all levels of special needs students and their parents
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to organize and coordinate districtwide program
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with federal and special program rules and regulations

Three years teaching experience in special education
Two years experience in program management or school administration
Salary Range: Salary dependent upon experience and qualifications.
