| Description/Notes: | The Executive Director of Communications & Community Relations supervises, plans, directs, coordinates and leads the Districts public information and communications program to include internal and external communications and relations. Serves under the broad guidance and administrative supervision of the superintendent. Is responsible for the overall effectiveness of the Districts public information, communications, community relations programs, community services, and social services. Coordinates publications and Print Shop services for campuses, departments, and school-related organizations. |
| Qualifications: | QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATION: .Bachelors degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: .Excellent public relations, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills .Ability to speak effectively before groups employees, parents, or the public .Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district .Thorough knowledge of media relations and public relations functions .Ability to use various types of software to publish communications, develop spreadsheets and perform data analysis EXPERIENCE: .3 years experience in journalism or communications, preferred .Experience in community relations |
