EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Masters Degree
Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience



CERTIFICATION:

Valid Texas Teaching Certificate by the State Board for Educator Certification



High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.



PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:
Provides coordination to the middle school instructional program by ensuring sound curriculum development, vertical articulation, and staff development.



ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists administrators and teachers in planning, implementing, and assessing the District curriculum, goals and objectives.
2. Collaborates with central office staff, administrators, department chairperson, and team leaders in monitoring the delivery of curriculum.
3. Utilizes a clinical supervision model to observe teachers and provide feedback on instruction.
4. Collaborates with high school and elementary instructional staff to vertically align the curriculum and instructional practices.
5. Coordinates and articulates the Pre-AP and enrichment programs for the campus.
6. Assists administrators and teachers in planning, implementing, and assessing staff development programs.
7. Assists in developing, implementing, and assessing best practice teaching methodologies in the classroom.
8. Performs demonstration teaching within the classrooms.
9. Coordinates the extended day, week, and year initiatives for the campus.
10. Assists in developing, implementing, and assessing the Campus Improvement Plan.
11. Assists in developing the master schedule.
12. Plans, coordinates, and assesses, in collaboration with feeder school administrators, transition activities for 5th to 6th and 8th to 9th grade students.
13. Analyzes teacher and campus-developed tests for relevance, appropriateness, and content.
14. Assists administrators and teachers in analyzing benchmark, District, and state testing.
15. Assists in identifying at-risk students and coordinates early intervention strategies.
16. Arranges for flexible grouping and pullout programs for at-risk students.
17. Attends Leadership, Academic Dean, Department Chairperson, and other campus or District meetings as directed.
18. Assists with coordinating the student assessment program and interprets and disseminates test data.
19. Works closely with the Department of Curriculum and Instruction to promote best practices and to coordinate special programs with the campus programs.
20. Assists with developing a campus budget relating to staff development, curriculum development, instructional delivery, and assessment.
21. Attends professional development training.
22. Fosters and promotes collegiality and team building throughout the community.
23. Performs other curriculum and instruction duties as assigned by the principal.
24. Maintains confidentiality of information.
25. Reports to work on time every day.
26. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and skills relative to traditional and new pedagogical theories, applications, and processes which relate to effective teaching across the disciplines
- Knowledge in effective teaching strategies, peer coaching and mentoring skills
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
- Valid Texas Drivers License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District
Qualifications:
Salary Range: $64,186-$78,754
