Campus Description: Founded in 1995, Orenda Education currently operates five public, tuition-free charter school campuses in Central Texas with a total district enrollment of 1,900. Our mission is to create new and innovative school choice opportunities in Central Texas for families seeking an alternative to the large, more traditional public school system. Each of our campuses serves a community educational niche that differs from the large traditional school model in several ways, from the smaller school size and project based learning to integration of twenty first century learning technology in all classes. With its existing assets, infrastructure, and systems in place, the organization is poised to grow to seven campuses and a total district enrollment of 2,500 over the next several years.

Description/Notes: POSITION SUMMARY:
Facilitate the efficient operation of the attendance office and input PEIMS data into the districts information management
system. Provide support to campus personnel.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Instructs individuals on how to fill out registration paperwork
-Receives registration paperwork from RTC, creates folder with student label, enrollment label and checklist label,
and verifies forms are complete and have proper signatures
-Requests school records using Trex and/or fax request, completes PID search in edit+, verifies SE eligibility,
inputs information received into SIS, creates student schedule in SIS, gives credits and transcripts to campus
administrator to create graduation plan, and creates filing system for enrolled and withdrawn students
-Maintains all student records (general and special ed) with appropriate required information: birth certificate,
SSN, shots; report cards, transcripts; TAKS results
-Documents records request from other schools, parents and appropriate entities; Creates professional forms for
proper storage of SE information
-Files SE documents on a daily basis; reviews SE records upon receipt from previous schools to assure that ARD
documents are complete (ARDS, FIEs, eligibility statements, and other SE paperwork)
-Assists with reports for campus personnel as needed that may be reported at a district level; emails key Orenda
personnel and other schools in regard to proper delivery of SE services to all Orenda students
-Completes state required reports to save throughout school year to have on file as needed
-Runs requested reports from SIS in regards to student information
-Assists with coordinating substitute teachers
-Assists with state testing coordination
-Inputs student/parent information into SIS database: registration application ( demographic information); grade
reporting application (input class schedule and transfer grade info); share application ( input immunization
records, vision, hearing and scoliosis); testing application ( input TAKS scores); withdraw student from SIS (when
student leaves)
-Inputs/maintains attendance application in SIS: inputs absent notes, maintains attendance log, and collects and
files attendance sheets from teachers
-Maintains and helps teachers with Gradebook (online); reviews grades; inputs transfer grades into online
-Gradebook for teachers; determine where grades should be placed for the different tracts
-Inputs Special Education information from PEIMS sheets: inputs information in registration application; inputs
information in special education application
-Corrects Pet/Pid errors in SIS
-Inputs grades and prints Report Cards/Transcripts: average grades for each semester and end of year and assign
credit (where applicable); inputs transfer grades into grade reporting application; inputs prior year transcript
information into grade reporting application
-Maintains SIS database so that it is ready for PEIMS Submissions
-Gathers timesheets, absence from duty forms, and PO information and submits to District office.
-Answers phones, faxes documents as needed; faxes-copies-scans and emails requested SE records from other
schools and other requesting agencies (TDFPS, ECI)
-Covers classes, as necessary
-In the absences of a campus nurse, completes required annual health screening after receiving the necessary
trainings
-In the absences of a campus nurse, administers medications and basic first aid after receiving the necessary
trainings
-Keep informed of and complies with all state, district and campus policies and regulations for public schools
attendance and enrollment
-Observe professional ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the
Texas Education Agency code of ethics.
-Mental & Physical Demands / Environmental Factors: Reading
-Ability to communicate effectively (verbal)
-Ability to operate computer and other office machines
-Maintain emotional control under stress
-Repetitive hand motions
-Prolonged use of computer terminal.

-Knowledge of: Proficient skills in typing, computer (to include major word processing, database, spreadsheet and
integrated software programs), file maintenance and other office machines. Prefer prior experience with TEAMS (Student Information System SIS).
-Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
-Ability to meet established deadlines
Qualifications: REQUIREMENTS:

-High school diploma or GED. Some college preferred. Upon hire, registrar will receive training in CPR, first aid, CPI (crisis prevention and intervention), health screenings, and medication administration
-Diabetes training or ability to receive
-One year of secretarial/data entry experience preferably in public education
-Proficient skills in typing, computer (to include major word processing, database, spreadsheet and integrated software programs), file maintenance and other office machines
-Prefer prior experience with TEAMS(Student Information System - SIS)
-Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to meet established deadlines
Salary Range: $16.00 -$19.52 per hour
D 205 days

Mon-Fri - 9:50 AM - 2:20 PM Part Time
