Description/Notes: | This is a Cabinet Level Position. School/Organizational Climate Assist Associate Superintendent for Administrative and Support Services to develop long and short range objectives and goals for the business operations of the school district. Keep the Associate Superintendent for Administrative and Support Services informed on the business affairs of the District. Develop and maintain positive staff morale with the business office. School/Organizational Improvement Plan and conduct needs assessments for growth and improvement of the district business operations. Assist Associate Superintendent for Administrative and Support Services to ensure that the business operations are supportive of the District objectives. Evaluate the performance of the directors, suggesting ideas for growth and improvements as well as recognizing exemplary performance. Determine that staff complies with federal and state laws and regulations and district policies and procedures Assist in the recruitment, employment, assignment and training of office employees. Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management Act as advisor to the Associate Superintendent for Administrative and Support Services on questions related to financial affairs of the District. Keep informed of and comply with all state and district regulations and policies concerning public education business administration. Provide leadership and management for accounting, payroll, financial reporting, tax collections, budget hearings, bond issues, debt management, and investment programs. Provide leadership to achieve cost-effective practices throughout the District. Assist Administrators of individual schools with the management of school financial affairs. Be responsible for bidding the depository contract, overseeing depository bank, and checking the securities pledged to assure that district funds are protected Be responsible for maintenance of an accounting and payroll system that complies with all federal, state and local guidelines. Compile district, campus, and program budgets and cost estimates; prepare and submit financial reports Demonstrate support for the Districts student management system and expected student behavior related to the operational aspects of the District All other duties as assigned Professional Growth and Development Remain current in the field by reading current literature, by attending professional meetings and conferences, and by discussing developments and problems of mutual interest with others in the field. School/Community Relations Maintain liaison with social, professional, civic, volunteer, and other community agencies and groups having an interest in schools. Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or designee. |
Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Minimum of a Bachelors degree, with major in Accounting/Finance or equivalent area CPA or other financial certification preferred Such credentials as may be required by the State Board for Educator Certification for this position Preferred Experience: Eight (8) years of directly related professional level experience required. Five (5) years of supervisory experience required. Experience in government accounting and finance preferred. |
Salary Range: | Minimum Salary - $122,861 |
Benefits: | 5 State, 5 Local days during the first year -- 5 State, 7 Local every year thereafter. District contribution towards TRS Active Care health insurance plan |
