| Description/Notes: | Job Goal: Assist in the preparation of educators through a state approved educator certification program in support of the EPSs core purpose and strategic goals. Major Responsibilities: 1. Oversee all components of the pre-service training program, including: a. Design; b. Implementation; c. Evaluation; and d. Continuous improvement. 2. Find, vet, interview, contract and supervise instructors for pre-service training. 3. Be accountable for the performance of program candidates in the TExES examinations. 4. Serve as the primary professional point of contact for teacher candidates during pre-service training. 5. Address program participants programmatic issues related to the teacher preparation program. 6. Meet semi-annually with a program advisory committee that ensures stakeholder participation and base support. 7. Participate in information sessions. 8. Maintain the Region 4 Education Service Center status, under the state accountability system for educator preparation programs, as Accredited through compliance with program state and federal requirements. 9. Assist with the curriculum audits and compliance with local, state, and national standards. 10. Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge and skills in area(s) of responsibility. | Qualifications: | Education Masters degree Certification Valid Texas Educator Certificate Experience 1. One year of recent experience with curriculum development for online instruction 2. Two years of recent experience in curriculum design 3. Three years of recent experience in developing and presenting professional development 4. Three years of leadership experience, i.e. Administrative, Department Head/Team Leader, Curriculum Coordinator 5. Five years teaching experience in a traditional district/charter school Special Knowledge and Skills Exemplary written and oral communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Principal or Mid-Management certificate Recent experience in digital learning instructional design |
