| Description/Notes: | POSITION SUMMARY The Superintendent of Schools (SOS) will report to the Board of Directors. This position is responsible for overseeing and directing the educational and operational programs of the district, developing school district policy and procedures related to school operations and the instructional programs, and leading evaluation processes supportive of improved instruction. The SOS is responsible for formulating goals and organizing, coordinating, and prioritizing the work of the district. The SOS will communicate district objectives and plans for strategic action steps, and support their implementation. |
| Qualifications: | EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Masters degree Minimum of 10 years in public school experience Minimum of 5 years in educational administration or supervision Experience recruiting, hiring and/or working with diverse teacher/student populations, parents, and other stakeholders OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS Maintain regular attendance. Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard, smart board and other campus technology. Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, including but not limited to: books, paper, presentation/instructional/office materials/supplies. This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling and/or the ability to be mobile. May work prolonged or irregular hours; maintain emotional control under stress. Ability to travel districtwide and statewide as needed by means of personal/private or public transportation in compliance with the states department of motor vehicle and/or public transportation laws. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Board of Directors. |
