| Description/Notes: | Under general direction, manages all financial resources and activities of the district; provides leadership and supervision to the accounting, budget, and payroll functions; performs complex technical analyses; prepares financial reports; and assures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field Masters degree and/or CPA license preferred TASBO certification preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of governmental accounting procedures, including financial reporting under GASB 34 and the Texas Education Agencys Financial Accountability and Resource Guide Working knowledge of cash management and investment procedures and applicable law Working knowledge of budget planning Working knowledge of data processing procedures, including database management systems Understanding of school finance, taxation, elections, the legislative process, and education policy preferred Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Minimum of five years in accounting and financial management at a responsible level with at least two years of experience in a school district supervisory position preferred. |
