Description/Notes: | The Valley View ISD School Board is seeking a Superintendent who is highly motivated and innovative. Specifically, Valley View ISD is looking for a strong leader with excellent communication skills who will be involved in the broader Valley View ISD community and understands the needs and high expectations of Valley View ISD. The District covers areas of the in the following cities: Hidalgo, TX and Pharr, TX, and surrounding unincorporated areas. |
Qualifications: | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • At least ten years of successful experience in public education. • At least five years of administrative experience. • At least three years of Assistant Superintendent Experience. • Certified as a Superintendent in Texas. • Knowledgeable in Texas school law, finance, curriculum, and accountability. • Evidence as a proven leader • Evidence as a turn-around leader PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Doctorate Degree |

The anticipated start date for the Superintendent is July 12, 2021, although applicants may be requested to start earlier. Applicants are required to hold a Texas Superintendent certificate. An application should include a detailed letter of interest indicating qualifications and reasons for interest in the position.
