Orenda currently owns and operates five charter school campuses in Texas with a total district enrollment of 1,300. Each campus serves a community educational niche that differs from the large traditional school model in several ways, from the smaller school size, project based learning and integration of twenty first century learning technology in all classes. With its existing assets, infrastructure, and systems in place, the organized is poised to grow to seven campuses and a total district enrollment of 2,000 through same school student enrollment growth and de novo school student enrollment growth over the next several years. |

| Description/Notes: | REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES SUPERVISES: NA FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT (HOURLY) SALARY RANGE: $19.76 - $26.41 PER HOUR WORK DAYS: 228 POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for meeting the hiring goals by filling open positions with talented and qualified candidates. This entails sourcing and screening candidates and coordinating with the Principals at our different campuses. Researching and contacting colleges and other employment agencies for hard to fill positions within the District. Develop new creative recruiting ideas for hard to fill positions. Facilitating applicants through the hiring process and ensuring candidates have a pleasant experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize K-12 Job Spot for proactive recruiting and advertising positions Attend recruiting job fairs Manage the Recruiting & Hiring website & job postings Review new applicants and work with Principals on potential qualified candidates Verify Teacher Certifications and coordinate with staff who have upcoming expiring certificates Responsible for maintaining annual employee required training Upload all new hires and contractors into the Texas Education Agency for fingerprinting and background checks which also need to be removed should they no longer work for the District. Manage the Volunteers by uploading them into the DPS website for background checks Assist with Compensation & Salary scales Review and maintain service records and transcripts for all required staff Respond to employment verifications Responsible for leading New Hire Orientation & Onboarding Assist with Employee recognition programs Assist with Title IX program Other duties as assigned WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental & Physical Demands / Environmental Factors: Normal for an office environment. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally & written) Ability to operate computer and other office machines Ability to adapt, on demand, to requests and priorities Ability to maintain confidentiality Repetitive hand motions Prolonged use of computer terminal Work with some interruptions Occasional lift office supplies & recruiting equipment for job fairs, up to 20 pounds |
| Qualifications: | KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES REQUIRED: Knowledge/Skills: Proficient skills in typing, computer (to include major word processing, database, spreadsheet and integrated software programs), file maintenance and other office machines. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol. Good math and problem solving skills. Detail oriented, excellent follow-up and ability to work in highly confidential position. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups. Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to meet established deadlines efficiently. Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment. Capability to learn new software programs quickly and efficiently. Experience: Three years of secretarial/administrative experience and heavy emphasis with data entry preferably in a public education environment. Prefer one year plus of experience working in Human Resources with direct experience in recruiting and hiring. Good understanding of general Human Resource policies, procedures, and compliance. Experience using Frontline (formerly TEAMS) ERP, Recruiting & Hiring, and Central systems is preferred. PHR or SPHR Certification is preferred Education: High school diploma or GED, Associates Degree and higher preferred. |
