Description/Notes: Responsible for managing, tracking, and monitoring major renovations, additions, and maintenance construction projects including: roofing, MEP, ADA accessibility, and permanent records. Implementation and completion of major capital projects and assigned major maintenance and minor capital projects including project development, project management, financial management and accountability for projects.
Assist in the development of project scopes. Utilize varied project management methodologies to manage a program of bond construction projects across the district as assigned to include documentation control, multi-project planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting procedures.

Estimating and project scheduling experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent project pre-planning, programming, budgeting, and client relationship management
capabilities.
Working knowledge of building codes, fire, and life safety codes.
Proven ability to maintain, manage and prepare reports and records essential.
Prior experience in an automated work control environment desirable.
Ability to work with diverse decision-makers.
Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills including: understanding people,
expressing thoughts clearly, speaking up when needs are not met, asking for feedback from others and giving quality feedback in return, influencing how others think and act, bringing conflicts to the surface and getting them resolved, collaborating with others, and shifting gears when relationships are unproductive.
Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of: Building construction methods and materials, preparation of cost estimates and
specifications, school modernization projects, demolition, and rehabilitation criteria, methods, materials, tools and terminology used in building trades, applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations, scheduling, planning and construction sequencing, computer systems, construction management programs, MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office and MS PowerPoint, maintenance of clear - accurate records, project plans and files.
Review plans, inspect construction projects, and make recommendations relating to adherence to construction documents, specifications, and contractual requirements.
Manage production of contract documentation and administer contracts including correspondence, plans and specifications, approval documentation, notices of changes, change orders, contractual notices, and invoices.
Liaison with architects, consultants, contractors, municipal authorities, and school administrators to ensure that the interests and needs of the school board are reflected in the final project.
Carry out periodic field reviews of contract progress to ensure general conformance with the contract documents.
Ensure satisfactory contractor performance, timely project completion, and compliance with authorized budget controls.
Provide computerized financial record keeping of ongoing projects by reviewing and approving invoices.
Review and approve contractors submitted payment applications for proper payment.
Conduct field investigations and make recommendations in connection with planning, design,
construction, change orders, design modifications and contract administration in the district's
building program.
Meet and confer with appropriate officials in the state, county and city government and make
professional recommendations to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing
financing, planning and construction of school facilities.
Supervise project delivery for each component of the project. Work with design standards, and
FF&E. Coordinate technology infrastructure and implementation programs.
Maintain coordinated services/responsibilities plan with project/construction managers design
professionals and construction contractors.
Provide scheduling, accounting and critical issue reporting to the district as required for all Bond
related projects.
Represent RISD in pre-design, pre-bid, pre-construction, and progress review meetings regarding
funded contract projects.
Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering, or other related field of study preferred. A minimum of five years of experience as a construction manager or superintendent may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Experience:
Five to ten years experience managing projects preferably in a general contracting, engineering, or an architectural setting.
Salary Range: $84,898 - $90,953
