| Description/Notes: | Provide vision and strategic leadership that focuses on Frisco ISDs mission by directing a successful special education program that ensures a continuum of comprehensive services for students with disabilities from 0-21 years of age coupled with ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and local requirements. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master's Degree in Special Education or other related field Valid Texas Principal/Mid-Management Certificate Valid Texas Special Education Certificate or License in a related field Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of best practices for special education programming, including curriculum and instruction and related services Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements associated with special education Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction for students who are IEP Entitled Ability to evaluate programs and teaching effectiveness Ability to manage local and federal budget and personnel Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills necessary to lead a team Familiar with the Special Education evaluative process Ability to effectively communicate, build rapport, and establish partnerships with all stakeholders Experience: Minimum of three years teaching or related experience in special education Minimum of three years in an instructional leadership role preferred Minimum of three years Special Education central office administrative experience preferred |
