| Description/Notes: | Working from your home office in Texas, the English Learner (EL) Teacher will virtually manage instructional programs for students with special needs in collaboration with the general education teachers. Through use of the telephone, Internet and various curriculum tools, they will consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure that each child successfully completes his/her instructional program. The EL Teacher will participate in all steps of the LEP process. They will work closely with other teachers and district professionals to ensure that the schools multilingual program is successful and operating in compliance with federal and state regulations. The EL Teacher will utilize technology to deliver virtual instruction. TOP: Based on potential student enrollment changes, this position is anticipated to work until the end of the 2020-2021 school year as a full time teacher. At that time, the school and department leadership will evaluate the status of this position and could extend it for the following school year if they deem it necessary. Full time positions are eligible for most employee benefits, including medical, dental and vision. |
| Qualifications: | Preferred residency in the Dallas, Midland, Corpus Christi, Houston, East Texas, or San Antonio areas Highly qualified to teach ESL in Texas; valid ESL certification for grades 3-12 at a minimum Experience directly teaching EL students preferred Bilingual preferred, but not required Strong technology skills (especially with Google Suite, Microsoft OS and MS Office programs) Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Customer focused approach High degree of flexibility Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment Team player track record Ability to travel 15-20% for school-related business (state testing, marketing, professional development, and school meetings); May require overnight travel Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families Ability to work remotely |
