Description/Notes: Dual Credit Coordinator in a Tradition Rich, West Texas Town.
(10 month teacher contract)

TEACHER WILL WORK IN OUR NEW, STATE OF THE ART JH/HIGH SCHOOL

Primary Purpose:

Promote and support academic and career/technical programs through recruitment and admissions of high school students. Serve as the primary liaison between high school and college personnel.

Early College High School Responsibilities
1. Understand the criteria and process for dual credit enrollment, alignment of school and college courses, as well as how to transcript credits
2. Understand the TSI assessment, provide support for students, to include test-taking strategies and share information with teachers
3. Clearly understand the degree plans at various institutions, demand occupations, projected earnings and provide guidance to students and parents regarding individual student goals and path to graduation
4. Collaborate with WLISD staff or as needed to ensure academic and social success for students
5. Understand the master schedule process and work side-by-side with the principal to schedule students in a variety of different schedules to meet the needs of the college pathway/endorsement
6. Assist with coordinating all state assessments required for graduation as well as AP exams, TSI, PLAN, PSAT, ACT, SAT, etc.


Program Management
7. Educate school staff, students, parents and community about guidance and counseling program/services
8. Participates in the ECHS summer bridge program for all students as assigned
9. Assist with the development of an advisory curriculum for the ECHS
10. Assist with the development of a college-going culture by facilitating such activities as college visits, career fairs, guest speakers, college T-shirt days and the adoption of colleges by each classroom

Communication
11. Establish and maintain open channels of communication and professional relationships with students, parents, teachers, principals, and other school personnel
12. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly

Professional Growth and Development
13. Participate in district and campus staff development programs that improve job-related skills
14. Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement
Qualifications: Must hold a Bachelors degree from accredited university (Will Consider Candidates Completing Bachelor's in May 2021)
Must hold a valid Secondary Texas Teaching Certificate. (Preferred Certificate(s): Any Core Subject Area Certification - Multiple certifications a plus.
Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned.
Must have a thorough knowledge of curriculum & instruction
