Description/Notes: Position Summary:

Responsible for mining data staff and student assessment, conducting classroom walkthroughs to support classical instructional practice, trains staff, identifies strengths and weaknesses in the instructional program and assists the headmaster and assistant headmaster with the administration of the school. Provide oversight of academic records, coordinate grammar and middle school activities and calendars, coordinate student schedules, assist with school discipline and serve as a resource person for parents on problems affecting the academic and character development of the student. In addition to these duties, the Dean will be responsible for all CTC duties and will also teach one or two sections of a course as determined by campus needs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Assists with data organization from all assessments and diagnostic instruments and develops strategies for intervening with students who are experiencing difficulties.
Engages staff in intensive data analysis and results planning
Implements and supports the goals determined by the district/schools School Improvement Plan
Works collaboratively with other educators to integrate educational initiatives and resources
Assists in program implementation and curriculum development
Assists schools in determining effective methods for the integration of curriculum standards, instructional strategies, and the developmental use of authentic assessment. Models a variety of instructional strategies designed to be rigorous and mirror assessment.
Assists in identifying professional development needs and developing long-range professional development plans.
Supervises instructional planning efforts on the campus to ensure classroom delivery meets targeted objectives.
Support the blended learning framework by working with teachers to effectively plan and deliver instruction tailored to student needs and reflective of sound differentiated strategies.
Support and provide guidance for the maintenance and reporting of local campus metrics.
Assists in the preparation of information for entry on students cumulative records; contributes data concerning student needs to ensure that every student is on track to graduate.
Assist in the special education referral process and participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Process (ARD) meetings when appropriate.
Collect and report student data for external tests including PSAT, SAT, PLAN, and ACT.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community in an appropriate manner.
Initiate and support programs that facilitate an appropriate climate for learning and promotion of virtue.
Coordinate all campus testing duties.
Provide counseling, consultation, coordination, and student appraisal to meet the academic needs of students related to graduation plans, college entrance, and scholarships.
Counsel and/or serve as a resource person for parents on problems affecting the orderly educational development, physical development, and character development of students.
All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree (preferred)
A strong major in education, administration or curriculum/instruction with a working knowledge of academic and administrative use of computers.

Experience

A combination of at least ten years of successful experience as a classroom teacher and as a supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
A proven ability to relate to a variety of constituencies
Proficient in MS Word and Excel and knowledgeable in PowerPoint
Demonstrated leadership and management ability
Salary Range: $49,633.00 - $50,633.00 / Per Year
