Primary Purpose:
Provide students with targeted learning opportunities and experiences in an alternative graduation
program designed to support credit recovery, early graduation, and dropout prevention. The Achievement
Teacher will guide students in meeting Texas graduation requirements while helping students fulfill their
potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. This role emphasizes individualized
instruction, goal setting, and consistent progress monitoring.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas Secondary Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work
experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
ESL Supplement required
SPED certification preferred
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience with facilitating online learning platforms
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to guide students in goal setting and college and career planning
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to build relationships and motivate at-risk students
Experience:
Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
