Description/Notes: Provide leadership and oversight for the campus comprehensive school counseling program while directing assigned areas of instructional programming, student services, and campus operations. Serve as a member of the campus administrative team to promote academic achievement, positive campus culture, student well-being, and equitable access to opportunities for all students.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
-Master’s degree from an accredited university
-Valid Texas School Counselor Certificate
-Texas Principal Certificate preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:
-Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development
-Working knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
-Ability to evaluate instructional effectiveness and implement improvement strategies
-Knowledge of campus operations, discipline systems, and student services
-Ability to interpret academic, behavioral, attendance, and assessment data
-Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
-Ability to manage personnel, budgets, and compliance requirements
-Skill in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
-Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and manage multiple priorities

Special Knowledge/Skills: 504 Campus Coordinator
-Thorough knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to the prohibition of discrimination of individuals with disabilities.
-Knowledge and awareness of a broad range of student disabilities (physical, speech, hearing, vision, medical, learning, and or emotional).
-Knowledge in laws, policies, rules and regulations pertaining to the discipline of 504 eligible students.
-Knowledge of research related to Response to Intervention.
-Knowledge of scientifically based and developmentally appropriate instruction for children.
-Skill in working effectively as a team member to develop and implement accommodation and intervention plans.
-Skill in Windows operating system along with district standard software packages such as Google Office (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and eSped.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileges and sensitive information.
-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with administrators, general education teachers, RTI teams, other school and District staff, parents, agencies, and community members.
-Ability to organize and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and independently to meet deadlines.
