| Description/Notes: | Summary Childress High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a full-time high school math teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. This position requires a commitment to academic excellence and the ability to engage and inspire students in their mathematical studies. Responsibilities - Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state and national standards for high school mathematics. - Deliver engaging and effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students. - Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support student growth. - Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, promoting respect, collaboration, and positive behavior among students. - Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to school-wide initiatives. - Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and academic progress. - Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in mathematics education and educational technology. - Support and advise students in their academic and career planning, helping them to set and achieve their goals. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. - Valid teaching certification in secondary mathematics for the state of Texas. - Proven experience teaching high school mathematics, with a strong understanding of curriculum and assessment practices. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. - Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning. - A commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students. - Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a passion for mathematics and lifelong learning. |
