| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master's degree in education, special education, or related field Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) credential from ALTA or equivalent Licensed Dyslexia Therapist (LDT) credential issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) preferred Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for assignment Special Knowledge/Skills: Deep understanding of structured literacy, multisensory instruction, and dyslexia intervention (Take Flight, Build, Rite Flight, Jet) Knowledge of the Texas Dyslexia Handbook and state/federal dyslexia mandates Experience developing and delivering individualized intervention plans, individualized education plans, and PLAAFP statements Strong collaboration, documentation, and progress monitoring skills Knowledge of reading, writing, and spelling instructional strategies Knowledge of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation Ability to analyze, interpret, and use student data to assess students for dyslexia Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills |
