| Qualifications: | The district seeks a candidate who has: • a minimum of a Master's Degree, a valid Mid-Management/Principal's Certificate and currently holds a Texas Superintendent Certification or similar certification from another state. • at least five years classroom teaching experience and a successful tenure as a campus-level principal and/or central office administrator is required, experience as a superintendent is preferred. • strong understanding of Texas Strategic Leadership (TSL) required. • must be willing to commit to the 5 year strategic plan identified by the TSL steering committee. • proven ability to develop a positive district culture. • a strong desire to be a part of the community and the willingness to be present at extra-curricular and community events. • the desire and ability to work with others. • a working knowledge of budgeting and Chapter 48 public school finance and understands the importance of being fiscally conservative. • demonstrated strong skills in educational leadership. • a strong background in student performance success. • integrity and exemplary moral character along with excellent people skills. • shown maturity, stability and the willingness to stay in a district at least 3 years. • an understanding of rural communities and student needs. • high expectations for Anahuac ISD students, faculty, and staff, and the desire to take a great school and make it even better. • understanding of the Legislative process as it relates to public education, especially in regard to school funding. • an ability and desire to mentor other administrators. • reputation of being visible on campuses. • residency within the district preferred |
| Salary Range: | Base salary is negotiable commensurate with experience and competitive with like size districts in the Southeast Texas area. |
| Benefits: | Travel, benefits and contract are commensurate with regional ranges. Reasonable moving expenses may be negotiated. |
