| Description/Notes: | Job Goal: Support the work of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) by assisting public school districts in the development and implementation of a TIA system that will increase the existing teaching talent pool as well as increase retention of the district’s instructional team. Specifically, this position will engage directly with the identified school districts by supporting the development of a strategic compensation system, developing and implementing the district’s TIA strategy, and engaging with districts around other state objectives developed to increase educator retention and recruitment. Major Responsibilities: TIA Regional Support Grant Responsibilities 1. Provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of a robust TIA system based on effectiveness. 2. Support districts with adopting, expanding, and implementing the TIA. 3. Support the identification of valid and reliable assessments to inform decision-making at the student level as well as identification of highly effective staff. 4. Support districts with data collection around teacher evaluation data, including observation and appraisal, student assessment, SLOs, and other measures. 5. Support districts with understanding and taking next steps related to TIA Data Validation. 6. Coordinate, track, and present project information to maintain stakeholder engagement and shared understanding across district teams, ESCs, and other stakeholders. 7. Develop and sustain deep partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. 8. Establish systems and structures to support planning that align with all grant deliverables. 9. Ensure grant compliance by collaborating within the district, the ESC, and with the TEA and communicate those expectations to all stakeholders of the initiative. 10. Develop a system for tracking strategies, identifying best practices, and supporting broader dissemination. Region 4 Responsibilities 1. Collaborate with the department team to develop, plan, implement and present effective professional learning, products, and services in the areas of TIA to improve student outcomes. 2. Develop, present, and facilitate effective professional learning sessions, series, convenings, and conferences. 3. Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge and skills in area(s) of responsibility. 4. Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable federal grant that supports this position. 5. Perform other related duties as assigned. Supervision/Personnel Management Supervise the Technical Specialist – TIA, including completing performance evaluations and conducting staff training. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/Mental Demands: Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; occasional statewide travel; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure. |
| Qualifications: | Certification/Licensure 1. Principal or Mid-Management certificate 2. Texas Teaching certificate or related certificate/licensure 3. Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certification 4. Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) certification Experience 1. At least three years of experience in central office leadership at the district level 2. At least three years of experience and expertise in implementing the Teacher Incentive Allotment or strategic compensation systems at the district or regional level 3. Experience working with talent and/or budget systems 4. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams 5. Experience in project management 6. Proficient in multiple data management systems and data processing platforms, including but not limited to Power Bi, e-School, Eduphoria, and Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) 6. Experience engaging school community members 7. At least three years of experience working in human capital development at the district or regional level 8. Three years of experience in campus administration as assistant principal and/or principal 9. Three years of teaching experience in a traditional district and or charter school Special Knowledge and Skills 1. Ability to effectively communicate, in both verbal and written formats, with a wide variety of stakeholders 2. Strong long-term planning and project management skills, including establishing outcomes, determining evaluative measures, and tracking progress 3. Knowledge of a variety of assessments, best practices regarding assessments, and Student Learning Objective (SLOs) 4. Knowledge and use of effective data protocols and systems 5. Ability to produce data analysis and visualization 6. Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration, facilitation, and management skills 7. Results orientation coupled with a strong work ethic 8. Excellent organization, coordination, and time management skills 9. Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity 10. Broad-based knowledge of school district leadership and administration 11. Superior presentation skills, including use of presentation multi-media and varied technology platforms 12. Ability to inspire and work well with campus and district leaders from all levels throughout the state |
| Salary Range: | $102,075 to $120,090 Per Year |
