Description/Notes: | MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Technology and Information Management Analyze complex business needs presented by schools and administrative departments, and develop and implement technical solutions. Explain technology solutions to senior management through presentation and advocacy. Manage, direct, and assign priorities and personnel to major projects to ensure attainment of district and department goals and objectives. Develop and implement district standards and specifications for hardware and software use, and computer networking. Devise, develop, implement, and maintain systems of internal controls, emergency and backup procedures, proper licensing, system upgrades, and disaster recovery plans to ensure integrity of information, security of databases, and internal network access control. Facilitate support between the Technology Department and district staff, including programming, application support, and end-user support. Appropriately oversee technology needs for new construction within the district, including development of a needs assessment, review of construction plans for technology, management of technology vendors and contractors, along with the purchase of additional equipment and services appropriate to support growth. Conduct regular reviews of technology processes and identify areas for improvement; research emerging technologies and security threats to inform strategic planning. Coordinate with Technology and District leadership to plan and implement continuous technological and security improvements. Policy, Reports, and Law Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of information management and technology. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. Participate in the research of and application for technology-related grants or revenue sources. Coordinate with Learning and Innovation staff to ensure all instructional applications are reviewed, approved, and covered by a data privacy agreement. Budget and Inventory Develop and administer the Technology Department budget based on documented needs, and ensure that operations are cost-effective and funds are managed wisely. Coordinate the purchase of all technology-related equipment and services; initiate bids in accordance with budgetary limitations and district policies and approve purchase orders. Personnel Management Hire, train, evaluate and manage Technology Department staff, and make recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal. Collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer on organizational structure, industry-standard job titles, and job descriptions. Other Participate in professional activities as they pertain to current technology trends relating to instruction and information technology. Maintain confidentiality. Model integrity and ethics in a manner exemplary of the Educator Code of Ethics. Comply with policies and procedures established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and local Board policy. Salary Range: | $98,994.80 to $138,120 Per Year |
