Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:

Conducts formal psychological evaluations of various target student populations for special education eligibility, planning, placement and consultation
with or referral to available resources. Provide psychological services to special education students.


Major Responsibilities:

1. Receive and review available developmental information from school-based and outside resources about student behavior(s).
2. Select appropriate psychological interventions; consult with curriculum personnel, administrators, and teachers in order to help adapt curriculum and classroom practices to pupils with any special needs.
3. Administer, score, and interpret psychological tests of intelligence, personality, neuropsychological processing, achievement, and development.
4. Observe students in the classroom for diagnostic purposes; interview students, parents, school personnel and gathers other sources of information on individual students.
5. Interpret and synthesize information obtained from psychological interventions in order to prepare a written report and to develop written recommendations to improve student engagement and learning.
6. Consult with students, staff, and parents to assist in developing individual instructional strategies or mental and behavioral health services for students.
7. Collaborate with other school personnel to create and maintain a multi-tiered continuum of services to support academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals for students.
8. Provide a continuum of mental and behavioral health services, including individual and group counseling, behavioral coaching, positive behavioral supports, and parent education.
9. Establish and maintain effective open communication with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
10. Participate in staff professional development activities and personal professional learning.
11. Participate in campus problem solving teams and school crisis prevention and response teams.
12. Address individual differences, strengths, backgrounds, and needs in the design, implementation, and evaluation of all services.
13. Use techniques of data collection to evaluate services at the individual, group, and systems levels.
14. Remain knowledgeable about ethical and professional standards, and legal regulations.
15. Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignments and for maintenance of license.
16. Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):

Master’s degree and valid license issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologist as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, or
eligibility as LSSP Intern under TSBEP regulations.
Salary Range: $68,750-$78,042 (Based on the 2024-2025 school year compensation plan; salary range may change for the 2025-2026 school year)
