Campus Description: HISD is a small community located 15 miles north of Galveston and 40 miles south of downtown Houston. The Hitchcock Independent School District is located within Galveston County. It has four campuses in addition to Kids First Head Start. The enrollment is approximately 1,999 students in grades Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. This student population is 39.3% African American, 34.9% Hispanic, 20.7% White and 3.7% multiracial. There is an overall rate of 82.6% for Economically Disadvantaged.

Description/Notes: Description/Notes: Responsible for oversight of all financial and business affairs of the district. Provide leadership for the district’s financial services activity to ensure legally sound and effective management practices. Direct and monitor the management and investment of all district funds and ensure they are adequately protected. Serve as the chief financial advisor and budget advisor to the superintendent and board of trustees.
Qualifications: Qualifications: Master’s degree in a business administration, finance, accounting, or related field (preferred)

TASBO - Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBA) (preferred)

Three to seven years of accounting or finance-related work including at least three years in a supervisory capacity in a leadership role in a school setting (preferred)

Advanced knowledge of school finance, budgeting, accounting systems, and economics

Knowledge of federal and state financial reporting regulations, policies and procedures

Knowledge of information/data processing systems and financial applications

Ability to resolve conflict, listen, and appropriately respond to concerns

Demonstrated leadership skills

Ability to manage budget and personnel

Ability to implement policy and procedures

Ability to interpret data

Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
