| Campus Description: | Groom school is a rural, self-contained (PK-12) campus located approximately 45 miles east of Amarillo on Interstate 40. The community of Groom has a population of approximately 700 and relies heavily on its agricultural roots. It is truly a small-town atmosphere and the school is central to most all community activities. The desirable candidate has experience in a small-town environment and desires to be a participating member of the community as well as the school. School responsibilities are numerous depending on the needs of the moment – every member of our staff wears multiple hats depending on the circumstances. The primary job responsibilities include: 1) providing instructional leadership, supervising operations and personnel on a campus with approximately 125 students PK-12; 2) providing leadership ensuring high standards of instructional service while promoting a sound discipline management program that ensures a safe and orderly campus atmosphere conducive for learning; 3) Overseeing compliance with district policies, success of instructional programs, and operation of all campus activities; and, 4) performing related district-wide administrative duties as required and/or assigned.<br /> |

| Qualifications: | Knowledge/Skills Required: Previous Administrative Experience Preferred and a minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience is required, Texas Mid-Management or other appropriate Texas Administrative Certification, Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Appraiser. Special Knowledge/Skills: Working Knowledge of Curriculum and Instruction, Ability to evaluate instructional programs and instructional effectiveness, Ability to manage budget and personnel, Ability to coordinate campus activities, Ability to interpret and enforce policies and procedures, Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills, Commitment to meaningful integration of technology as a integral part of the instructional process. |
| Salary Range: | Salary is commensurate with relevant experience. |
| Benefits: | Groom ISD pays $325 per month for school insurance for all employees. |
