Description/Notes: Position Overview:
The Special Education (SPED) Instructional Aide is essential in fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all scholars, especially those with diverse academic and behavioral needs. Collaborating closely with classroom teachers, the aide provides targeted one-on-one support to help students achieve academic and behavioral goals. This role upholds Beta Academy's standards of excellence and contributes to a joyful, rigorous, and respectful learning environment.
Qualifications:

Education/Certification
Certified Educational Aide preferred OR
High school diploma and 48 hours of higher education OR
Associate degree OR
Successful completion of the THEA or equivalent core academic examination.
Experience
Six months to one year of experience in an educational setting, ideally in special education, is preferred.
Experience with instructional support and student management is beneficial.

Full-time / 188 Duty Day Calendar / Hourly, Non-Exempt/ 100% Onsite
Key Responsibilities:
Academic & Student Support
Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Provide individualized support to scholars, meeting their unique academic, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Encourage scholars to achieve their highest potential through rigorous and engaging learning.
Implement Beta Academy’s instructional standards of Joyful Rigor and High Expectations.
Document support provided to scholars and upload weekly progress reports, particularly for ESL and SPED scholars.
Compliance & Documentation
Track and log scholar progress accurately, ensuring completion of weekly service logs and push-in notes.
Meet compliance targets, ensuring 100% of Special Pops scholars are serviced and service logs are submitted as required.
Behavioral & Classroom Management
Model and reinforce Beta Academy’s character standards and uphold a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and disrespect.
Support teachers with monitoring scholar work and classroom environment, ensuring scholars exhibit neatness, thoroughness, and mastery in their work.
Supervise scholars with focused attention during all school activities, maintaining school rules and procedures.
Technology & Resource Management
Use Beta Academy-provided technology and software effectively to enhance learning outcomes.
Support scholars in learning and utilizing school technology resources.
Professionalism & Team Collaboration
Maintain professionalism at all times, using positive and constructive communication with scholars, staff, and parents.
Participate in school meetings and required training, demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative spirit.
Communicate regularly with homeroom teachers about scholar progress and attend relevant staffing and ARD/LPAC meetings.

Compliance Goals
Ensure 100% of Special Pops scholars receive required services.
Complete and submit 100% of push-in notes and service logs weekly.
Service Satisfaction
Achieve a minimum 90% satisfactory score on the Staff Climate Survey.
Documentation Accuracy
Accurately document weekly progress for ESL and SPED scholars, maintaining audit-ready records.
Professional Communication and Collaboration
Maintain regular, constructive communication with homeroom teachers and parents regarding scholar progress.
Attend relevant meetings, including staffing, IEP, ARD, and LPAC, to ensure cohesive support for scholars.
