Description/Notes: PRIMARY PURPOSE:



The Coordinator of Local Assessment will lead the district in local assessment processes, as well as identify the relationship between the local assessment data findings and curriculum implementations. The Coordinator for Local Assessment reports to the Director of Student Assessment and will also support state assessment program initiatives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Collaborate and communicate with other departments, campus leaders, and testing coordinators regarding district assessments
Manage the distribution and collection of district assessments
Monitor and assist campuses with the preparation and administration of all local assessments.
Collaborate with the curriculum and technology department to interface with local assessment vendors
Provide training and support effective use of Eduphoria and data analysis across the district
Provide support district wide via data services that include writing data summaries of local assessments
Provide the initial district-wide training as well as all follow-up training as needed using Eduphoria School Objects: Strive for registration purposes for all local assessments as assigned.
Will create procedures, train, conduct, and implement norm reference testing.
Create data views in Eduphoria School Objects: Aware for publishing to district stakeholders.
Employ both quantitative and qualitative data analyses to provide stakeholders with information essential to making knowledgeable decisions about curriculum effectiveness and instructional modifications necessary to facilitate student achievement.
Design, plan, organize, coordinate, and implement comprehensive research projects relating to curriculum rigor and strategies for evaluating the efficacy of interventions.
Lead the process of creating district testing procedures for all local assessments.
Assist with the administration, materials, training, and check-in process for all state-required and TEA-optional assessments as assigned and TFAR.
Provide guidance and assist with the creation of the local and state assessment calendars.
Perform all other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will also require both traveling within the district and statewide. Mental demands: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to interpret TEC and policy; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory, ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

Qualifications: Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Five years of campus testing coordinator or job-related experience
Detail-oriented and able to handle deadline pressures
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Preferred
Elementary & Secondary testing coordinator experience
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
Five years of successful experience as a classroom teacher
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Knowledge of the Texas Accountability system, the Federal Accountability System, the Texas Assessment system, and other state and federal accountability systems for monitoring district and campus performance.
Strong knowledge of research methods, testing, and statistical use.
Ability to produce, analyze, interpret, and summarize data
Ability to interpret and implement policy and procedures
Ability to evaluate data, programs, and practices and develop short and long-term plans based on current technology skills that support educational research and analysis
Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
