Description/Notes: PRIMARY PURPOSE:



The Director of Student Information Systems (SIS) will lead the team responsible for the support of all Student Information System-related activities, including ongoing support, maintenance, and upgrades. The Director of Student Information Systems will be responsible for ensuring all reporting from the system is accurate and reliable. This position will be the conduit between the SIS team and leadership to provide project status, required reporting, and project planning.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Supervise the SIS team to ensure that the SIS is highly available and providing accurate data.
Supervise all projects related to SIS activities.
Effectively communicates with partners and customers to ensure a clear, consistent message is delivered.
Build solid relationships with key stakeholders from other teams.
Manage high-priority, complex, and competing projects.
Understand the district's Student Information System (SIS) and its relationship to quality State and Federal reporting.
Provide accurate weekly reporting to the Officer of Technology and other senior leadership as required.
Develop and maintain staff development plans.
Collaborate with the Data Management and Compliance team to assist in providing quality data necessary for successful state and federal submissions.
Remain current on new state requirements and associated system setups in the Student Information System (SIS).
Identify SIS user training needs and collaborate with DMC to ensure the development of required training, delivery schedules, and materials.
Supervise the collaboration between departments and programs to ensure all local, state, and federal requirements are met.
Maintain, update, and publish district SIS procedural guidelines for schools and monitor implementation of policy and procedures.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:



The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. Repetitive motions and prolonged use of computers. This position will also require both in-district and statewide travel.



Mental demands: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to interpret policy; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory; ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress. The ability to work with frequent interruptions and independently. Irregular hours as necessary during peak times.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:



Required:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Seven years’ experience in Student Information Systems support
Five years in a leadership role
Highly skilled in both written and verbal communications
Preferred

Ten years of experience in school business and student information systems support
