Description/Notes: | Job Title: Specialized Supports Specialist: RDSPD Program Review Facilitator FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Grade: 103 Work Days: 226 Reports To: Coordinator of Special Programs Primary Purpose Ensure a well-articulated, coordinated, comprehensive, state-wide educational program to support educators who work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, including secondary transition services and related services Coordinate, organize, and facilitate the legally required Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD) Program Review process for Texas RDSPDs. The four phases of this process include the following: Phase One: Prepare Phase Two: Site Visit Phase Three: Plan Phase Four: Reflect Provide effective statewide guidance per the Required Activities Document of the Specialized Supports Grant Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Education/Certification Master’s Degree A valid Texas teacher certificate Teacher certification in deaf education Administrative certification preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills An understanding of the RDSPD Program Review process An understanding of the components of an effective RDSPD: Early Intervention Assessment for Special Education Student Programming and Placements Student Instruction Progress Monitoring Program-Wide Policies and Procedures Qualified Providers Experience A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience with students who are deaf or hard of hearing A minimum of two years of successful experience training teachers and/or other adults Successful experience participating in three or more RDSPD program reviews Successful experience in an educational leadership position; experience in a supervisory position, preferred Essential Duties and Responsibilities *This job description is not intended, and should not be construed, to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job. Coordinate, organize, and facilitate the legally required RDSPD Program Review process for Texas RDSPDs Actively participate in and/or provide leadership for inter-departmental teams to work toward improving regional and statewide student performance, improving ESC Region 11 internal operations, and meeting the established goals and objectives for ESC Region 11 Respond as a first point of contact for educational stakeholders Analyze available needs assessment data from regional, state, and national sources Develop and provide quality training for professionals to ensure that students with disabilities demonstrate progress in the grade-level Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) through the use of specially designed instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications Model effective uses of technology in professional productivity and instructional applications Provide statewide technical assistance, professional development, and appropriate follow-up to professional learning sessions Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Duties None Equipment/Specialized Software Used Computers, projection devices, control panels in meeting rooms, printers, productivity software, software specific to the job assignment, network resources, internet resources, and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently. Mileage and expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with ESC Region 11 policies. Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations. Evaluation Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance, need, and funding. |

Salary Range: | Pay Grade 103 $78,994 (minimum) to $96,335 (midpoint) |
