Description/Notes: | Primary Purpose: Provide support for the daily human resource Operations. Handle routine HR inquiries and provide responsive and knowledgeable assistance to employees. Maintain and operate the substitute calling system. Responsible for processing and maintaining all substitute records. Education/Certification High school diploma, GED required Bachelor’s Degree preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Proficient in keyboarding and file maintenance Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Office Suite Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets Ability to perform basic math Ability to read, speak, and understand English Excellent organizational skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Experience 3 years of general clerical experience 2 years of human resource experience preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: HR Support ● Process hiring requisitions for transportation staff as well as professional and non-professional staff as needed. ● Recruit, interview, and hire district staff and substitutes. ● Maintain an HR information database and new hire spreadsheet to ensure that employee information is accurate, current, and reliable. ● Maintain a position control system in an accurate and timely manner. ● Reconcile job descriptions with position control to ensure that there is a job description for every assignment. ● Follow up with supervisors to make certain that job descriptions are reviewed and updated regularly. ● Process verifications of employment, open records, and service records requests. ● Process new hire paperwork including criminal history information, references, and other application materials. Substitute System Management ● Operate the automated substitute system including data entry, generating reports, substitute lists, absences reports, and utilization reports. ● Provide training to all campus substitute coordinators. ● Monitor long-term substitute assignments. ● Update Substitute Handbook as needed. |
