Description/Notes: JOB SUMMARY: Support Local Education Agencies (LEAs) through the development of relationships with all stakeholders. Assist in the brokering and marketing of Center products and services. Assist in the development, facilitation, and implementation of an efficient and effective communication network among local LEAs, ESC-20, and the Texas Education Agency. Assist LEAs in efforts to improve student performance and align programs/services addressing the needs of the LEA.




POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Master's degree from an accredited university required.

Supervisor, Mid-Management, or Superintendent Certification required.

Three years of central office/administrator experience preferred, or successful administrative experience in a school district central office or regional education service center management position.

Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership in a supervisory or administrative role.

Demonstrated ability to align programs to support high achievement for all students.

Demonstrated ability to develop and manage the implementation of complex, multi-phase plans.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.

Demonstrated effective job related skills that model effective integration of technology.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal and collaboration skills with both internal and external clients. 

Demonstrated effective job related skills to design and deliver a spectrum of strategic transformation services.

Experience in coordination with institutions of higher education (IHE), regional service centers, and state and federal agencies.

Public relations skills preferred.

Proficiency with standard functions within electronic applications such as MS Office (e.g., word processing, electronic spreadsheets) and e-mail.

Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include desktop management file management and operations, and working in a network environment.

Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.




PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES

Develop and implement a clear and strong two-way system of communication and collaboration with LEAs and across Center divisions.

Provide timely and accurate responses to questions from LEA personnel in regard to options available for supporting the operations of the LEAs.

Provide assistance to LEA executive leadership in identifying resources, products, and services available from ESC-20, the Texas Education Agency, and other sources to support efforts to improve student achievement.

Provide leadership and direction in the design, delivery, implementation and evaluation of programs and services that support the strategic transformation process for LEAs.

Analyze actions of the State Board of Education, State Legislature and the Texas Education Agency to define specific implications for LEAs.

Assist in identifying emerging needs in LEAs and establish a communication system for sharing information with ESC-20 staff. 

Design and implement a process for maintaining client profiles for each LEA. 

Design and deliver school board training to address state requirements and needs of LEAs.

Coordinate Superintendent of the Year, Board of the Year, and annual TASA Superintendent Breakfast meeting.

Salary Range: $7,968 - $8,964 monthly
