Qualifications: | PRIMARY PURPOSE Provide leadership, training, and technical assistance to local education agencies in the Region One ESC area to enhance educator effectiveness and increase student achievement in literacy. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Master’s Degree in Reading or related field, preferred. Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in area assigned. Experience: Minimum five (5) years teaching experience in reading language arts (grades K-5 preferred). Minimum two (2) year experience utilizing high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) preferred. Minimum one (1) year experience as a Texas Reading Academy Cohort Leader preferred. Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, English Language Proficiency Standards, Texas Student Assessment System, and Federal accountability systems. Knowledge and/or experience with HQIM (Amplify TEKS Edition and Texas Curricular Resources) Knowledge and/or experience with RLA and PreK RBIS. Knowledge of current instructional coaching/mentoring models. Broad based knowledge of concepts and skills in science of teaching reading. Knowledge of research on effective teaching and methodology. Knowledge of research-based teaching/learning practices for diverse learners. Experience in curriculum development and evaluation. Ability to utilize technology for teaching, learning and communication. Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups, internal and external to Region One ESC. Effective time management skills to organize and complete multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Effective organizational and presentation skills. Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills; Bilingual (English/Spanish). preferred Desire to self-reflect, give/receive feedback, and continuously improve. Salary Range: | $69,793.00 - $96,380.00 |
