| Description/Notes: | PRIMARY PURPOSE: Direct and manage the district’s special education programs. Ensure that services are provided for students with special needs and individualized education plans are provided to meet the needs of all students. Warrant compliance with all state, federal, and local requirements. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Minimum of a Master’s degree Valid Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsement Valid Texas administrative certificate preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of federal and state special education law Understanding of the individual needs of students with special needs Knowledge of instructional resources and curriculum development Ability to communicate with all levels of special needs students and parents Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data Ability to manage personnel Knowledge of state assessment Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: Five years of experience in special education preferred Leadership experience in a supervisory position required |
| Salary Range: | Commensurable with experience. Daily rate range: 385.61 - 543.57 |
