Description/Notes: | Plans, organizes, and implements the physical education program at the state school for youth who have been adjudicated delinquent of felony offenses, assigned to a high security correctional facility, and have a wide variety of temperaments and specialized needs. Work involves teaching individual and team sports to the youth; utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and physical capabilities of the youth; promoting development of physical attributes and social skills; organizing, leading, instructing, and refereeing indoor and outdoor games; and administering assessment instruments and accurately scoring and interpreting results. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per workweek and be on-call. |
Qualifications: | Bachelor’s degree. Required: •Valid Secondary Texas Teacher Certification to teach Physical Education. Acceptable certifications include: Physical Education and/or Health and Physical Education. •Highly qualified to teach physical education. Note: Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required to meet minimum qualifications must be from an accredited educational institution. |
Salary Range: | 5077.62 - 7296.07 (Monthly) |
