| Description/Notes: | 2026-2027 New Position Primary Purpose: Lead and coordinate Annual, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, ensure all required documentation is accurately completed, and monitor compliance with state and federal regulations. Support effective communication among parents, teachers, and school staff. Ensure that Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are implemented with fidelity to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Program Management Coordinate and/or assist in scheduling Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings, including establishing clear agendas, determining appropriate time allocations, and setting meeting norms to promote effective collaboration. Facilitate ARD committee meetings using structured facilitation strategies to ensure productive dialogue, equitable participation, conflict resolution, and focus on student-centered decision-making. Ensure compliance with all federal and state timelines and procedural safeguards related to ARD committee functions. Maintain ongoing, systematic communication between special and general education staff with respect to ARD decisions, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), student accommodations, instructional planning, and progress monitoring. Review ARD documentation and related records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and correction of clerical errors prior to finalization. Communicate identified errors or missing components to appropriate staff and enable timely corrections that maintain compliance. Support student achievement by ensuring the delivery of special education services and instruction in alignment with each student’s IEP. Conduct systematic audits of IEPs and ARD paperwork to ensure procedural compliance and alignment with legal requirements. Ensure that all procedural safeguards, notices, and required forms are issued within mandated timelines. Establish an efficient system to track due dates of reevaluations, annual ARDs, amendments, and progress reports to prevent lapses in compliance. Ensure student progress is evaluated on a regular, systematic basis and findings are used to make decisions to improve program effectiveness as it relates to specific student needs. Offer and implement changes when warranted. Instructional Support Support the district’s student management policies and behavioral expectations as they relate to students receiving special education services. Design and deliver training and orientation for new staff regarding ARD procedures, compliance requirements, and effective IEP implementation practices. Provide ongoing coaching and professional learning opportunities to build staff capacity in implementing special education processes, instructional best practices, and IEP requirements with fidelity. Provide technical guidance on ARD procedures, compliance expectations, and effective IEP development and implementation. Partner with campus administrators and instructional staff to promote collaborative problem-solving and continuous improvement in services for students with disabilities. Communication and Community Relations Establish and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with principals, teachers, staff, and families to support high-quality services for students with disabilities. Serve as liaison for parents in matters related to evaluation, eligibility, ARD processes, and IEP development. Promote a shared understanding of the district’s mission and goals for special education by equipping staff with the knowledge and tools necessary to ensure collective responsibility for student achievement. Compliance, Policy, Reports, and Law Compile, maintain, and submit all required reports, documentation, and records in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements. Monitor compliance with all federal and state timelines related to evaluations, ARD meetings, IEP implementation, progress reporting, and annual reviews. Verify that required documentation is properly completed, signed, and filed in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines. Adhere to the ethical guidelines of professionals within the public school setting. Comply with all policies established by federal laws, state regulations, State Board of Education rules, and local board policies. Other Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. | Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate in Special Education Master’s degree preferred Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of state and federal laws for educating students with disabilities Understanding of the individual needs of students with disabilities Ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff Ability to implement policies and procedures Ability to interpret data Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: 5 years of teaching students with disabilities and participation in ARD meetings |
| Salary Range: | Contract Days: 192 days Salary: Pay Grade 1: $54,844-$73,190, commensurate with experience |
