| Description/Notes: | Serve as instructional leader for the campus. Analyze the educational needs of assigned students and exercise leadership in planning and implementing an instructional program of maximum quality and efficiency to address these needs in a safe and supportive environment, establishing and promoting high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance. Direct and manage all programs and campus activities and supervise operations and personnel at the campus level. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master’s degree from an accredited university in educational administration or a directly related field. A Texas Principal Certification, One-Year Texas Principal Certification, or Texas Mid-Management Certification. Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of acceptable public education leadership principles and techniques. Knowledge of acceptable instructional practices and principles. Knowledge of Texas Education Agency rules, regulations, and procedures. Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules and regulations. Knowledge of acceptable school finance and budget practices and principles. Knowledge of acceptable human resource/supervisory practices and principles. Skill in directing the work of others. Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing. Skill in analyzing complex information. Skill in operating standard computer and software applications, including but not limited to email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations. Ability to develop a shared vision and plan for a campus that focuses on continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Ability to apply current research to guide and support continuous improvement and program design. Ability to solve complex problems and build consensus. Ability to develop and implement long-range plans. Ability to support major student technology innovation. Ability to prioritize and organize work responsibilities and delegate appropriate campus tasks effectively. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience and previous experience as an assistant principal, associate principal, or principal. Five (5) years of experience as a classroom teacher preferred. Three (3) years of experience in instructional leadership roles at the campus level preferred. |
