About the Human Resource Services Department The Human Resource Services Department attracts, develops, and retains employees who support the district's mission. Our team provides HR support across staffing, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. The Benefits & Leave team administers employee benefits plans, manages carrier and vendor relationships, oversees enrollment processes, and ensures compliance with federal and state laws including COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA. The team also counsels employees on their benefits options and coordinates across payroll, risk management, and campus staff. |

| Description/Notes: | About the Role: Coordinator, Benefits The Coordinator, Benefits provides leadership in the administration of employee benefits programs for the district, including coordination with insurance carriers and vendors to ensure efficient, accurate delivery of services. This role analyzes benefits data, monitors eligibility and enrollment file feeds, resolves discrepancies, and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations. The Coordinator supports open enrollment, conducts benefits orientations, develops process improvements, and provides direction to assigned staff. |
| Qualifications: | Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: -Administer employee benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and other insurance programs. -Analyze eligibility and enrollment file feeds to identify discrepancies, research root causes, and coordinate resolution with internal teams, vendors, and carriers. -Coordinate and monitor benefits data for accuracy, including overseeing deduction balancing for payroll processing. -Assist with benefits orientation meetings, open enrollment, and group presentations of benefit plans. -Develop timely COBRA and HIPAA notices for terminated employees and dependents. -Initiate audits of benefit claims when information suggests benefits were not administered appropriately. -Research best practices and emerging trends; evaluate current processes and develop data-driven recommendations for improvement. -Provide support to the ACA third-party administrator for data inquiries related to IRS tracking and reporting requirements. -Oversee procedures and reports for premiums paid and invoice documentation for carrier payments. -Manage and resolve employee escalations in alignment with district policies. Provide direction and guidance to assigned staff. -Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, and ADA. |
| Salary Range: | $63,608.80-$76,636.00 |
