| Description/Notes: | ELKHART INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Job Posting Posting Date: 2/23/2026 Position Title: High School Criminal Justice/Forensic Science Teacher/Coach Location: Elkhart High School Beginning: July 2026 Position Summary: Provide instruction in the TEKS related to the Academic Assignment mentioned above, provide instruction in related subject area curriculum, complete and implement developmentally appropriate materials and programs for students, prepare students for designated levels of testing, create required assessments and related documents, and perform other duties as assigned. Coaching duties will be included with this position. Education/Certification: ● Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or high school diploma/GED and equivalent wage-earning experience as required by certification ● Valid Texas career and technical education certificate with required license, endorsements, and training for subject and level assigned, or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI) ● Demonstrated competency in the career and technical education subject area assigned Duties/Responsibilities: ● Demonstrate thoroughness, reliability, and a high degree of accuracy in performing work assignments in accordance with Texas Education Agency regulations, board policy, and administrative guidelines ● Develop and implement plans for assigned curriculum program ● Produce and maintain accurate grading, discipline, and attendance records ● Maintain student confidentiality ● Provide an organized classroom environment conducive to learning at the appropriate level of student development ● Incorporate the use of technology in lessons when appropriate ● Become knowledgeable of and comply with state, district and campus regulations and policies ● Cooperate with other staff members in planning and implementing instructional goals and objectives using strategies outlined in the district and campus improvement plans and curriculum documents ● Maintain professional relationships with staff members, students, parents, and community members ● Perform related duties as assigned, including coaching duties Application Procedure: • Current EISD Employees: You may submit an internal application via https://www.applitrack.com/elkhartisd/onlineapp/default.aspx • External Applicants: Please apply through https://www.applitrack.com/elkhartisd/onlineapp/default.aspx • Additional Documents: Resumes, transcripts, and letters of reference may be included with your application. • For further inquiries, contact Brandi McEnturff at bmcenturff@elkhartisd.org.
