| Description/Notes: | Position Summary: The Special Education Support Teacher provides targeted instructional support in math and reading for students receiving special education services. This position works collaboratively with general education teachers, special education staff, and intervention teams to deliver effective, data-driven instruction aligned to student IEP goals and campus instructional priorities. Primary Responsibilities: ● Provide small-group and individualized math and reading intervention for students receiving special education services ● Support implementation of IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications in math and reading ● Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and deliver targeted interventions ● Monitor student progress using formative assessments and data to adjust instruction ● Assist with documentation and compliance related to special education services ● Participate in ARD meetings as needed ● Support campus RTI/MTSS processes related to math and reading intervention ● Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment for all students Qualifications: ● Valid Texas teaching certificate required ● Special Education certification required ● Math certification preferred ● Experience providing math and/or reading intervention strongly preferred ● Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for diverse learners ● Strong communication and collaboration skills Additional Skills & Attributes: ● Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs ● Strong classroom management and organizational skills ● Commitment to student growth and academic success ● Willingness to collaborate with campus staff to support instructional goals Contact Tim Henderson at thenderson@nhisd.net and Jan Vaughn at jvaughn@nhisd.net. |
