| Description/Notes: | Direct and manage the overall program of extracurricular and intramural athletics for the district and lead the football program as its head coach. Provide each student with the opportunity to participate in an extracurricular athletic activity and ensure compliance with all federal, state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and local requirements. Possess a passion for sports and education and demonstrate an understanding of how young athletes should be developing into successful athletes, students, and young adults. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Masters of Education degree/Mid-Management certification is preferred Valid Texas teaching certificate and other appropriate certificates related the position Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of overall operations of an athletic program Ability to communicate the individual program needs and expectations to all staff. Knowledge of federal, state, and UIL policies governing athletics Ability to develop and implement policy and procedures Ability to interpret data Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to mentor both students and coaching staff. Excellent public relations, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to speak effectively before community groups of students, parents, and staff Experience: Successful five years of teaching and coaching experience Athletic Director/Head Football Coach experience is strongly preferred Offensive/Defensive Coordinator experience preferred |
