Description/Notes: | Bandera ISD is searching for an experienced and fun Assistant Principal to join the Alkek Elementary School Family for the 2025-2026 school year. Bandera ISD is a 4-Day instructional week district (Mon-Thurs). Admin. Staff will also participate in staff development, training, and additional administrative duties on some Fridays throughout the school year. Qualifications: | Requirements: - Master's Degree in Educational Administration (or equivalent field of study) - Valid Texas Principal/Mid-Management certification - TTESS/TPESS certification - Minimum 5 successful years classroom teaching experience - Reading Academies training (Preferred) - ESL Certification (Preferred) Responsibilities: - Support the Campus Principal in the day-to-day operations and responsibilities of the campus through self-direction and self-initiative - Ensure campus (student/staff) safety and security - Support the campus principal in the research, planning, preparation, and management of operations of the pubic elementary school campus - Lead by example - Be accountable for actions and decision making - Maintain positive relationships through clear, respectful, professional communication with students, staff, parents, and the community - Ensure strict confidentiality as per the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) - Ensure strict confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) - Ensure responsible student supervision at all times - Respond to and support persons from diverse cultural backgrounds - Manage student behavior and administer ethical and equitable student discipline - Investigate issues and violations to the student/staff code of conduct and report to senior administration - Monitor and track student attendance and work with attendance clerk on follow up investigations - Promote a positive campus culture - Supervise campus operations in Principal's absence - Accountable observation of employee performance and evaluation - Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs - Responsible for campus textbook inventory, distribution, and collection - Support the campus principal in the development, maintainance, and use of information systems to track the progress of campus goals, performance objectives, and strategies - Advise and support Campus Principal on important campus matters - Participate in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members - Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment - Other duties as assigned as per the needs of the campus or district Special Knowledge/Skills: - Self-Initiative (Self-Directed Servant Leader) - Visibility all day... every day! - Relationship builder with students, staff, parents, and the community - Clear understanding of the district's Administrative Organization - A positive and can-do attitude - Friendly and supportive demeanor - Ability to maintain focus on tasks in a fast-paced, and at times, stressful environment - Thorough understanding of school operations - Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills - Ability to coordinate campus support operations - Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction - Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness - Ability to manage budget and personnel - Ability to coordinate campus functions - Ability to implement policy and procedures - Ability to interpret data |
