Description/Notes: | BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for the coordination and supervision of the District’s secondary school Career and Technical Education Program under the direction of College, Career, and Military Readiness Director. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50) paid by employee Master’s Degree preferred Mid-Management Certification, Texas Principal or appropriate administrator certificate preferred Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Working knowledge of federal and state code governing career and technical education Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Management style compatible with the position Knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of standard for CTE facilities, supplies, and materials Ability to interpret data Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Experience: Minimum three (3) years of teaching experience Leadership Role CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the characteristic duties, responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and abilities noted herein; however, this is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions found in this job description. Instructional Management: Aligns CTE programs with certifications, licensures, and industry requirements to the greatest extent possible. Coordinates the programs of study work group consisting of administrators, counselors, and teachers. Aligns CTE programs with dual and articulated credit opportunities to the greatest extent possible. Ensures CTE courses assist students in the development of skills necessary for employment (i.e. interview skills, application skills, etc.) and works to develop industry relationships allowing for student work-based learning opportunities. Provides instructional coaching for CTE teachers. Coordinate, research, and inform the instructional programs in CTE. Coordinate the review and selection of instructional materials and supplies in CTE program. Plan, coordinate, communicate, and facilitate the implementation of new instructional programs in CTE. Assist in the development and allocation of the annual budgets for CTE programs. Coordinates and manages all industry-based certification exams Data Management: Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other required documents. Assist district staff in working with student assessment data, workshop and other applications. Respond promptly to all internal data requests and ad hoc research projects for District and campus administrators. Use technology-rich data to collect, organize, and visualize assessment data to determine the extent to which all students at all levels are achieving state and federal standards. Organization Management: Participates in career and technical program development at the campus and District level. Assists in career/technical and educational planning, including course selection and modification. Manages federal CTE funding including timely submission of grant applications and reports. Reviews CTE program offerings to ensure alignment with job opportunities within the area and state. Ensures processes are in place to provide assistance to students making career choices. Assists special education and general education personnel in correct placement of students with special needs in CTE classes. Establishes systematic procedures for identifying and accomplishing goals. Organizes and assigns resources. Coordinates CTE events. Communication and Community Relations: Consults with parents, staff, and students. Research information to develop a CTE Community Advisory Group. Collaborate with community partners for industry-specific learning opportunities Foster collaborative educational efforts among members of the total school community. Seek support for school programs; and involving himself or herself in community activities that foster rapport between the school district and the larger community. Identifies and communicates with community employers to form partnerships leading to possible opportunities for enhanced student instruction, student job placement, or other areas of cooperation. Facilitates communication with the school and between the school and community. Professional Growth and Development: Plans, organizes, and conducts staff development. Coordinates the CTE curriculum council and PLC work. Participate in staff development activities to improve skills related to job assignment. Participate in professional organizations and take the initiative to develop needed professional skills appropriate to job assignment. Participate actively in professional associations. Disseminate ideas and information to other professionals. Seek and use evaluative information for improvement of performance. Qualities of Effective Coordinators: Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity, a collaborative leadership style and high ethical standards. Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position. Maintain confidentiality. Comply with the Code of Ethics for Texas Educators. Keep informed of and comply with state, District, and campus policies affecting schools. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. Shall comply with the standards of conduct set out in Board Policy DH (Legal) and (Local) and with any other policies, regulations, and guidelines that impose duties, requirements, or standards. Perform any other duties as assigned by the administration. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Staff assigned as appropriate. Monitor and assist teachers in the CTE program. MENTAL DEMANDS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Posture: Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, pulling and pushing Motion: Use computer for prolonged period resulting in repetitive hand motions Lifting: Lifting and carrying 15-44 pounds frequently, 25-40 pounds occasionally, more than 45 pounds infrequently with assistance; pushing/pulling 10-35 pounds sporadically; may be required under specific circumstances to provide physical restraint of students in danger of causing harm to themselves or others Environment: Occasional district-wide and statewide travel; work irregular and extended work hours to include holidays and weekends Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions |

Salary Range: | $341.38 to $518.54 daily on a 226-day calendar |
