Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:

Assist the campus principal in the overall administration of instructional programs and campus-level operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Communicates and promotes high expectation levels with team and learner performance in an enabling, supportive way.

10. Develops (as necessary), maintains, and utilizes appropriate information systems and records necessary to increase district improvement.
11. Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs; encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
12. Promote the use of technology in teaching/learning process; promote a positive, caring climate for learning; deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds; and communicate effectively with students and staff.
13. Participate in the development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members; help the principal develop, maintain, and use information systems to maintain records and track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.
14. Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences. Serve as second appraiser for designated teacher appraisal system; and assist the principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff.
15. Supervise operations in principal’s absence; help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.
16. Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with the attendance clerk on follow-up investigations.
17. Work with department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needs; requisition supplies, textbooks, and equipment; check inventory; maintain records; and verify receipts for materials.
18. Systematically and continuously monitors instructional processes to ensure that program activities are related to program outcomes; uses these findings for corrective action and improvement, as well as for recognition of success.
19. Works with team to plan, implement, and evaluate the processes on a systematic basis; includes students and community representatives (when appropriate).
20. Ensures that departmental services are continuous and responsive to learner needs.
Provides resources and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional goals.
21. Evaluates and recommends improvement in the purposes, design, and implementation of district programs as well as other support programs related to increased learner performance.
22. Help to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior; ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable; conduct conferences on student and
school issues with parents, students, and teachers.
23. Articulate the school’s mission to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission; demonstrate awareness of school community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs; use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
24. Uses information provided through assessment instruments, the district appraisal process, and evaluative feedback from supervisors to improve performance.
25. Strives to improve leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities (e.g., undertaking professional reading, attending conferences, and participating in training programs). Participate in professional development to improve skills related to the job assignment.
26. Utilizes information and insights gained in professional development programs for self-improvement.
27. Disseminates ideas and information to other professionals; provides leadership in addressing the challenges facing the profession (e.g., active involvement in professional associations, professional presentations at conferences, etc.)
28. Conducts oneself in a professional, ethical manner, in accordance with generally accepted community standards; complies with TEA code of ethics.
29. Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, State Board of Education rules, and board policy.
30. Is effective in scheduling activities and the use of resources needed to accomplish determined goals.
31. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or other administrative staff, which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
32. Demonstrates principles of the Manor ISD People Experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the school principal. Supervise teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, and clerical personnel and others as assigned.
Qualifications: Master’s degree; Texas Mid-management or other appropriate Texas certificate; Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser; Valid Texas teaching certificate

Three years of classroom teacher experience
Instructional coaching and/or teacher leadership experience preferred
Two years of school administrator experience (Required)
Salary Range: $85,353 - $120,320
